Two foreign nationals arrested with crystal meth worth R250,000 in Edenvale:
A joint operation by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Intervention Unit and the SAPS Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) led to the arrest of two foreign nationals in Edenvale after intelligence linked two properties in Acasia Estate to drug dealing.
Police seized more than 1.2kg of crystal meth with an estimated street value of R250,000.
A 48-year-old suspect was found with 162.21g of crushed crystal meth worth about R150,000, while a 27-year-old suspect was arrested at a second property with 1,071.33g of uncrushed crystal meth valued at approximately R100,000.
Both suspects have been charged with possession of illicit substances and will
appear in the Edenvale Magistrate’s Court.

Witness M, who is scheduled to provide testimony from the 6th to the 10th of this month at the #MadlangaCommission of Inquiry, has submitted an in-camera application.
The witness, whose testimony involves highly sensitive information concerning heads of state, drug syndicates, organised crime families, terrorist organisations, and politically exposed individuals, has expressed concerns regarding their safety.
Subsequent to discussions with the commission, the witness has reported instances of being followed and surveilled, and has formally notified the inquiry of these occurrences.
The commission is expected to issue a directive concerning the application in the near future.

A 35-year-old Nigerian migrant was arrested on Friday, 3 July 2026, by members of the #SAPS in Potchefstroom for allegedly dealing in drugs, after police acted on information received.
Police received information about suspected drugs concealed in an alley behind a local bakery. The information was immediately operationalised. Through further investigation, police followed up on additional leads, which led them to a flat where the suspect had allegedly been seen.
The suspect was searched, and police allegedly found drugs, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash, in his possession. He was immediately arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Potchefstroom Magistrate's Court on Monday, 6 July 2026, on a charge of dealing in drugs.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Major General (Dr) Ryno Naidoo, condemned the sale and distribution of illegal drugs, describing them as a serious threat to the safety and well-being of communities.
