Today we are delighted to announce that Cllr Liz Brennan has been elected as our new group leader.
Liz is a mum-of-three who lives in South Glos with her family and is an incredibly hardworking local councillor.
Thanks for everything you do, Liz 💪
Yesterday, we attended Remembrance services that took place across South Glos.
The parades were well organised and the services incredibly moving.
We are eternally grateful for the opportunity to pay our respects to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Last week, South Gloucestershire Council’s Labour/Lib Dem coalition warned residents about flying flags in a “divisive” and “intimidating” manner.
But we think the administration should spend more time focussing on the things that matter.

Last week, our councillors Becky Romaine and Liz Brennan donned their hard hats for a special visit to Chipping Sodbury quarry.
Becky and Liz met the workforce and discussed geology, blasting and the numerous career and apprenticeship opportunities available on site.

Car parking charges in South Glos car parks come into force today.
We opposed the charges from Day One, voting against them in the council chamber.
Parking charges are bad for residents and bad for businesses.

Today we remember the enormous sacrifices made by so many for our freedom.
We’re looking forward to taking part in the local commemorations today and paying tribute to the people we have lost.

We agree with Lib Dem councillor Mike Drew. The Lib Dem/Labour budget is “terrible”.
That’s why we voted against it last night.
We offered to make it better by diverting almost £2m towards fixing potholes.
Sadly, the coalition refused.

So we have:

❌ Car parking charges
❌ Reduced bin collections
And now more cuts to come.
The Lib Dem/Labour coalition, everybody 👇

Today, @sgloscouncil’s Lib Dem/Labour administration will agree their plans for housing development over the next 20 years.
Sadly, huge areas of South Gloucestershire’s precious green belt will be lost.

“South Gloucestershire council tax set for 4.99% hike despite residents' opposition.”
The Lib Dem/Labour coalition is pursuing policies that’ll see:

At tonight’s @sgloscouncil meeting, we supported a motion against the government’s ‘family farm tax’.
The tax is unfair and the government should be supporting our rural communities.
Pleased to add our name to the opposition.

This story from the @FarmersGuardian shows the efforts councils have made to oppose the government’s farms tax.
We hope the Lib Dem/Labour coalition will support our motion tomorrow night and add @sgloscouncil to the “town hall rebellion”.
