This petition calling for a halt to affordability checks currently has 58,000 signatures. If it hits 100,000, it triggers a parliamentary debate on the subject. This is a hugely important crossroads for British racing. It takes a minute to sign. Do it now. https://t.co/sp5HoSKim2
Grand National day. For those of us that live and breathe the game, this day can be an emotional rollercoaster. Excitement, worry, elation, frustration, relief. In amongst all of it, don't forget one key truth. After the naysayers fire their arrows at our sport in the pursuit of cheap publicity, by tomorrow morning most of them will have moved onto something else until next year. We'll still be here, feeding, caring for and loving our horses and our sport. Take a breath, don't let it wind you up. We've got this. #StandUpForRacing
I have always taken immense pride in travelling and saddling up not just winners but all runners for Her Majesty The Queen. I think i can speak for all travelling staff when I say we stood an inch taller when representing her. May she find peace and God save the King 🇬🇧
Hugely disappointed that the BHA seems incapable of making any decision. While the proposal didn't address all concerns it made a positive step in the right direction. The @BHAPressOffice looks weak even with backing from @NTFnews and @TheJockeyClub https://t.co/z8k7MsJczR
Credit where credit is due, the stable lads canteen at the links is incredible. My sea bass chefs special was excellent and the whole team does a great job of looking after us. @NewmarketRace@NARSnewsinfo
Currently at a 47 runner evening card at @NewmarketRace small crowds and smaller fields. I'm racing nearly everyday of the week and this is increasingly the norm. The fixture list needs slashing @BHAPressOffice
@estrellia £20 to £30 most places. Occasionally £50 mostly on Saturdays and feature races. £100 plus for the major festivals. To be perfectly honest quite often there isn't one.
@WHR "Sprinter Sacre by 6 or 7 lengths, the impossible dream coming true. And he regains his title! Sprinter Sacre wins the Queen Mother Champion Chase for the second time"
This week I think of my grandfather Toby Balding. A two time @AintreeRaces Grand National winning trainer who also won the Aintree Hurdle 5 consecutive times with Beech Road and Morley Street (pictured). A legend of a man I'm sure he'd be the first to wish everyone luck this week
