Back in 1928, there was some controversy over this 1846 date for this panel in the City Hall bronze doors, carved by sculptor Henry Lion. Acc'g to @sgeetv (https://t.co/XYCmfHGhuG), some felt the US occupation date should be 1847, which was when the #TreatyofCahuenga was signed.
