I'm not sure it’s a good application of feminism to suggest working class men can’t oppose rent hikes against the most marginalised communities in the city
Ivan Yates used his media training company to also lobby both Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil TDs – including junior minister Niall Collins – in hotel meetings on behalf of an energy company that wanted advice on getting “a favourable planning decision”.

@caulmick We have something of an answer. She reassures us that she never spoke up about repossessions or tracker mortgages in the Dail.

Asked by @thejournal_ie if she declared her status as a credit union manager and defaults on mortgage cases when speaking in the Dail about repossessions or the tracker mortgage scandal, HH said: ‘I never stood up in the Dail and spoke about any of those things, I can assure you’
@caulmick@HeatherH In fairness when she was manager of cootehill credit union they didn't take enforcement actions against home owners. At least I assume they didn't? Surely the media would have told us if they did?
Martin seems to misunderstand the European Union. I think every European leader would agree that the EU wants actively engaged citizens, not obedient uncritical subjects.

@mattcarthy@OCallaghanJim Well said. The principle that lawyers should not be identified with their clients is protected in human rights instruments including the UN Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers. A human rights instrument that Fine Gael seems to have issue with.

I don't often get viscerally annoyed by things politicians say, but a Fine Gael Minister attempting to take the high ground over home repossessions has done it.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Fine Gael's Helen McEntee both launched attacks on Catherine Connolly today.
Although Martin's was more veiled, McEntee accused Connolly of hypocrisy as she raised questions on her role in aiding banks in repossessions

Humphreys says she ‘abhors animal cruelty’ - How is this possible while she also supports fox hunting and hare coursing? Both these statements can't be true.

Thank you @irishcongress for calling out the shocking claims of the business lobby regarding the Occupied Territories Bill. This is a modest measure, the bare minimum under int law. We should not be trading and profiting from war crimes!
