The videos coming out of Nepal look like something straight out of a Hollywood disaster movie.

Entire areas overwhelmed by a massive wall of water, mud and debris after a catastrophic glacial and rock collapse ripped through the Himalayan region.

And after a year already filled with devastating earthquakes, enormous wildfires and extreme weather events around the world, people online are starting to ask the same question:

Why does it feel like everything is happening at once?

Now old Joe Rogan podcast clips featuring Graham Hancock are resurfacing... and they're sending people even further down the rabbit hole.

Hancock has spent years arguing that human civilization may be much older and more complicated than mainstream archaeology recognizes.

His theory centers around evidence he believes points toward an advanced civilization existing before a massive period of upheaval near the end of the last Ice Age... followed by survivors transferring knowledge to the civilizations that came afterward.

One date in particular keeps coming up:

Roughly 11,600 years ago.

That's around the end of the Younger Dryas, when temperatures rose dramatically and sea levels continued climbing as the planet emerged from the Ice Age.

Hancock has also repeatedly pointed to Göbekli Tepe and the ancient story of Atlantis, arguing that these clues could represent remnants or memories of something humanity lost.

Are we just living through an unusually brutal year for natural disasters… or are these events reminding us how quickly nature can completely rewrite civilization?
