Thought experiment: if we significantly reduced funding for incarceration, police, welfare, military, and if we taxed investment income the same as employment income, we could provide every American with healthcare and provide a guaranteed income of $20k per year per adult.

By providing mental and dietary / preventative help and providing everyone a guaranteed income, we can eliminate our reliance on incarceration and significantly improve our health, which would further reduce the amount of spending required by the government.
