Today we mourn the loss of a true ambassador of our game, Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo. Dikembe spent 18 seasons in the NBA, including his final five as a Houston Rocket. His fun-loving personality and trademark finger-wagging endeared him to fans around the world, but Dikembe’s true impact was his passion for helping others. Our condolences go out to his loving family and friends.
Statement from @TilmanJFertitta: “On behalf of the Rockets organization, we are deeply saddened by the passing of Dikembe Mutombo, a true legend both on and off the court. Dikembe was beloved by the entire NBA community and his tireless humanitarian efforts left an indelible mark on our league. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Rose, and their children.”
@MattWallace888@iluminatibot Ask yourself how many other student opinions you’re going to challenge. He did the assignment. Whether he’s just looking for an argument or if he really believes it, that’s not the point. He did what you asked.
On behalf of Chief Neil Noakes and the entire Fort Worth Police Department, we extend our deepest condolences to the family of Maria K. Windham.
Maria proved to be a cornerstone for the community, and the biggest supporter to Chief Thomas Windham, who served our city as police chief from 1985 - 2000.
Her passions included philanthropic efforts with the Shriners and Cook Children’s Hospital. Maria was also heavily involved in Citizens on Patrol and an advocate of Community Policing.
Our thoughts are with family during this difficult time, and we offer our unwavering support and sympathy as they navigate through their grief.
We know that Maria touched many lives. She was well loved and will be missed by many.
It was a joy to listen to our Emerging Bilinguals read poems they wrote today in @sgw123 class. One of our Board members, Natalie Blasingame, came too.
