@minihootlol @MishaalRahman@AkiraJkr1@worldno1goodboy Maybe. The goal here is that this is a very deliberate thing. Note I'm not with Android anymore, and while I proposed this very thing back in 2018, I wanted to go a lot more extreme route of full wipe to activate.
@Doc72_@MishaalRahman@AkiraJkr1@worldno1goodboy In principle you are right, but the goal here was to clearly draw the line between very advanced users who know full well what they are doing (and are tiny minority) - and everyone else.
@AkiraJkr1@MishaalRahman@worldno1goodboy On the contrary, this is not intuitive because this is not meant to be intuitive. For intuitive go to Play Store, or to any certified app stores. This is strictly for power users.
TBF when I initially proposed this feature I wanted to go fastboot oem unlock route - extreme.
@adub0808@SamiFathi_ Dude, leapfrogging Android with Gemini... do you see any obvious problems in this statement?
For me, Gemini on my Samsung/Pixel became absolutely indespensable, to the point when I long-press power button and start talking to it without even thinking.
@GapToothGreenie@rogzy_@Telegraph First, IQ is an inherently flawed metric. Second, those who make it to the UK are by definition better off intellectually than the mean in their country (or Britain, for that matter). Is it truly a surprise they set their kids for success early on in their lifes?
@Jaemyung_Lee Mr President, I may not agree with you on every single one of your policies, but as far as taxes go, this one is least controversial and proven to work in many other countries. In short, go for it - 파이팅!
@oroborous@NurdieFreiheit Not really, no, but I'm sure there's some analytics (most likely in Russian) discussing it. More like second hand personal experience (didn't live in Russia for 20+ years, so couldn't experience any of that personally tho)
@NurdieFreiheit@oroborous And I'm not even starting on fintech - T-Bank's app (ex-Tinkoff before it was blatantly seized from the rightful owner) is frankly second to none, with Revolut only somewhat approaching it. Sber app is also excellent. Again, credit where it's due.
@NurdieFreiheit@oroborous Funnily enough, Russia does have functioning tech ecosystem. I'm very, very far from being apologetic to Russia, but credit is where it's due - partly on its own accord, and partly due to sanctions, there's a thriving digital economy there. Yandex, Wildberry, VK - list goes on.
@CR1337 Wait, this gets better - @HSBC_UK app refuses to work if you have USB debug enabled, effectively spitting in the face of each software engineer, INCLUDING THEIR OWN mobile app team. I understand security, trust me I do, but this is not security, this is stupidity.
@joshwoodward@GeminiApp I would love if it can choose fast or thinking model depending on the question - some questions really don't need reasoning, just an AI Search style answer.
Come to think of that, integrating AI search?
