Rob Nelson (Rockstar North co-studio head / development lead) told TGG that Jason and Lucia run an in-game health app:

1) Sleep is tracked. The app tells you whether you’re well rested. Being rested affects regeneration of certain attributes. Nelson’s line: “We track lots of things — all this good stuff.”

2) Food still changes the body. Eat enough and they get visibly chubby — Nelson says you have to actually eat quite a bit. Hit the gym hard and they pack muscle. Stop maintaining it and the muscle (and the bonuses) go away.

3) Long crime benders can show on their faces. It’s not just a hidden meter — the duo can look worn after nights on the run.

4) Lifestyle noise sits next to it: satirical social feeds you can doomscroll. Rockstar is leaning into “your habits are the game.”

5) Where they drew the line: grocery restocking. Nelson told Famitsu (via GamesRadar) they prototyped buying groceries and restocking Jason and Lucia’s fridge — then cut it. Quote: they had to “find the right balance between realism and ease of play.” Fridge photos and stickers stayed.
