@BaltCitySchools board voting tomorrow on closing schools. They say SBCS (Southwest Baltimore Charter School) is underperforming but…did they actually dig into the data? 😳 It shows they’re doing more with less and outperforming the city’s middle schools!

@BaltCitySchools in #Sowebo no matter what its test scores are, but when you want to close a 4th local school, one that is in the top 3 of all 10 schools up for renewal this year, it makes us ask again - why are you picking on us? What are these decisions even based on? Cuz it ain’t the numbers.

This data shows more kindergartners coming in farther behind the city average, 25% of the school is in special ed, and yet kids’ academics get stronger the longer they’re at SBCS. We need more schools like this, not fewer! @BaltCitySchools, it is brutal to close another school…
