This is extremely common in Israel. I keep my real views hidden most of the time. These conversations never go anywhere—you get dismissed, ridiculed, labeled a traitor or conspiracy theorist, or outright attacked. The population is so thoroughly propagandized that actual discussion is impossible. Did you see how the female anchor reacted to what she said? It's not open to discussion.

You don’t need some advanced theory of mind for this. She literally said she wouldn’t hook up with him or be his FWB. That’s just her saying she has no casual sexual interest in him. For most guys that isn’t some minor detail you shrug off because she mentioned marriage. Being wanted sexually is a big deal, and hearing “I’d only want you once we’re married” reads like a ranking that puts his sex appeal below everything else. That’s not a compliment to a lot of men.

The double-standard thing doesn’t really land either. Women expect men to pick up on signals about commitment and effort all the time without spelling it out. Same idea here. He can still be wrong for just dipping instead of talking it out, but the original line isn’t some ambiguous nice thing that only a weirdo would take the wrong way. The bad interpretation is the obvious one.
