At the Together 4 Palestine gig in London, Eric Cantona stood alongside ex-Palestinian player Mahmoud Sarsak, jailed 3 years by Israel, with a powerful reminder:
“FIFA and UEFA banned Russia 4 days after Ukraine. We’re 716 days into a genocide, and Israel still plays.”
@Kp963@clasicalcringe "Play like it’s the 89th minute and you need that last-minute winner at Anfield.
Stay disciplined like Arteta’s backline, believe like the Invincibles,
and remember — form is temporary, but Gooner spirit is forever."
I usually air my strongest non-footballing opinions elsewhere, but this is the biggest platform I have, and some things just need to be said.
Rarely am I left speechless, but I find myself struggling to even begin, because no collection of words could even begin to capture the magnitude of horror, cruelty, and sheer atrocity of what’s going on in Gaza.
The fact that this is openly taking place in the 21st century is a grotesque reminder that despite all our supposed progress, we remain complicit in allowing the darkest corners of cruelty to thrive unchecked.
To say I’m disgusted would be the understatement of my life.
🔴 Ten Hag on United plans: "Initial meetings are good… now we have to take things quickly because the summer is coming".
"We want to make the next step into our squad and make plans to create an environment that avoids this year's problems in injuries", told Sky.
A bulldozer covers a mass grave of dead Palestinians collected from Al-Shifa hospital, which has been under a brutal assault by Israel.
The U.S. government doesn’t want you to see this. Share it anyway.
When someone says to me that I look tired, I feel nothing but shame. This is what tired looks like. I cannot imagine what it’s like to be a doctor or nurse in Gaza under these conditions. Then to find your kids amongst the dead. I’m so sorry. You are our heroes.
Dear world,
Israel just bombed a Christian hospital in Gaza and murdered over 500 Palestinian civilians. White phosphorus chemical bombs confirmed by human rights watch was not enough to open your eyes. Over 1000 dead children wasn’t enough. Will you open your eyes and act now?
O Allah! Protect and comfort the people of Palestine. Ease their pain and suffering. Calm their hearts amid the turmoil and devastation. Grant them a swift end to the decades of oppression and suffering. Grant them the victory they deserve. Aameen.
