مسئلہ یہ ہے کہ یہاں وارن کرنے والا، جنازے اٹھانے سے پہلے آواز اٹھانے والا، آگ بجھانے والا؛ غدار، دہشت گرد اور باغی بنا دیا جاتا ہے۔ بریکنگ نیوز کے چکر میں قوم بس دن کے ایونٹس پر ریکشن تک محدود ہوگئ ہے۔ آج ہر کسی کی ٹائم لائن پر بنوں لکی مروت کی ویڈیوز تو ہیں لیکن آج بھی دہشت گردوں کو لانے سے لے کر، معصوم لوگوں کی شہادتوں، امن کمیٹیز کے قیام اور لشکر کے نئے بیانیے کو سمجھنے کی کوشش نا کر کے سب اس درندگی کو مزید ایندھن مہیا کر رہے ہیں۔
بلوچستان کے بعد پختونخواہ میں جرنیلوں کی ہوس کی وجہ سے نفرت اس مقام تک آگئی ہے کہ نا ہی کسی پولیس کے تبادلے سے کام ہوگا نا ہی ایک ہفتے میں کئی بار ڈی آئی جیز، ڈی پی اوز اور دیگر کے تبادلوں سے پولیس میں آپ کی نیک نامی ہوگی۔
۲۰۲۳-۲۴ میں عوام کے بعد پولیس میں میڈ اپ دہشت گردی کے خلاف بڑھتی تشویش کے متعلق آپ کو وارن کیا، آج وہ آپ کے سامنے کھڑے ہیں۔
ریاستی چھتری تلے امن کمیٹیز بنانے کے وقت خبردار کیا، آج وہی امن کمیٹیز بھی آپ کی حقیقت جان کر آپ سے نبردآزما ہیں۔
آج یہ بھی بتا دوں جو یہ آخری چیز رہتی ہے یہ جو امن لشکر بنانے کی آپ کی کوششیں ہیں جسے اگر آپ زبردستی بنانے میں کامیاب ہوگئے تو ہر شہری کے ہاتھ میں بندوق ہوگی تو جب کل آپ کی پالیسی بدل جائے گی تو ان بندوقوں کا رُخ کس جانب ہوگا کچھ سوچاہے؟
اللہ پاکستان اور پاکستانی قوم کو آپ کے مزید شر سے بچائے۔

Prime Minister @andyburnham and Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband : how much longer will Britain remain silent?

For three years the father of my two sons, and Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has been brutally penalised by his political opponents, in a personal vendetta by Army Chief, Asim Munir,  which according to the UN,  amounts to torture and which  is now taking a potentially fatal toll on his physical and mental health. 

He has endured 3 years of solitary confinement. For nearly ten months now his family has been denied contact with him. He has been deprived of the most basic human contact, denied access to books, lawyers and doctors.

The international human-rights standards are unequivocal. Under the UN’s Nelson Mandela Rules, solitary confinement lasting more than 15 consecutive days is prohibited and amounts to torture.

He has endured this treatment not for 15 days, but for three years.

Pakistan’s own Supreme Court has now intervened: ordering comprehensive  medical treatment, access to his personal doctor, regular family visits and twice-weekly calls with his sons.

Yet those orders are being defied.

This is no longer simply a Pakistani political matter. It is a human-rights emergency.

He has deep and lifelong ties to Britain. He studied at Oxford University, captained Oxford University cricket and spent years playing county cricket in England. His relationship with this country stretches back more than half a century. His charitable activities were internationally recognised, and  include building the only free cancer hospital in Pakistan as well as a university.

His sons, my two boys, Sulaiman and Kasim, are British citizens. They have been forced to watch their father’s health decline from thousands of miles away, prevented from visiting him, denied visas, publicly threatened by government officials with arrest themselves, and even denied court-mandated regular phone calls. 

I have repeatedly appealed to the UK government to intervene. Purported attempts at back channelling have evidently failed. The previous Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy informed me in writing that Britain would not  intervene if my sons, British citizens, are arrested when they travel to Pakistan to visit their father. 

@FCDOGovUK: Britain must now speak out publicly and unequivocally. Demand that Pakistan comply with its own Supreme Court;  restore Imran Khan’s medical access, his right to see his family, end his prolonged isolation and uphold his fundamental human rights.

Pakistan is a Commonwealth country. Britain has a long and proud tradition of standing against arbitrary detention, inhumane treatment and the denial of fundamental rights. Those principles mean very little if we invoke them only selectively and neglect them when inconvenient.
This an appeal to the new Burnham government  to please now do the right thing.

Contempt of Court or Judicial Activism? The Demand for Judicial NRO and the Facts

The Supreme Court ordered that the convicted prisoner be examined at a private hospital by a team of specialist doctors under the supervision of his personal physician and family.

The order clearly stated that responsibility for the prisoner’s security and protection would rest with the government. The court also obtained written guarantees from Salman Akram Raja and Dr. Uzma that the hospital would not be turned into a political gathering place and that no law-and-order situation would be allowed to develop around it.

Although the court’s order was contrary to the Constitution, the government appealed the decision.

When the appeal was not accepted, the government showed restraint instead of creating further tension and began all security and administrative arrangements at Shifa International, the hospital specified by the court, so that the prisoner could be brought there.

In contrast, PTI leaders and journalists created an atmosphere on social media and gathered workers around the hospital. PTI’s own social media is evidence that the hospital had been turned into a political gathering place overnight.

The government had the option of using this as an excuse to keep the prisoner in jail and begin an operation to disperse the workers, but the government once again respected the Supreme Court’s order and brought the prisoner to PIMS Hospital.

The only difference was the hospital; otherwise, the same team of specialist doctors, personal physician, and family members remained involved in providing the best possible treatment.

That is why the Information Minister, in his very first tweet, clarified that only the hospital had been changed because of the security situation, while all other proceedings were carried out in accordance with the court’s order.

Now, what is the justification for all this crying over contempt of court? Is even entertaining this frivolous petition by the court not a sign of being unable to comprehend either common sense or the Constitution?

If contempt of court has been committed, then it should be against Salman Raja and Dr. Uzma, who gathered workers and violated the court’s order. They then held a press conference and publicly tore apart the written guarantees they had given to the court.

Dr. Uzma and the personal physician, Dr. Faisal, stated in the same press conference that the prisoner was 100% healthy according to his medical condition. His eye treatment was also excellent. In other words, the concern that the court had expressed proved to be unfounded.

🚨 Now that the order was followed and the concern was also resolved, what is the need to entertain an application for another proceeding? The objective was to provide medical treatment, not to allow the prisoner to enjoy a stay in a private hospital.

The hope from the court is that it will not now go beyond the limits of the law and the Constitution. If that is the case, then perhaps it should

عرصہ سے خان صاحب کی اپنی ہدایات ہیں، جو بارہا دہرائی جاچکی ہیں کہ اراکین اور پارٹی قیادت کی جانب سے سپریم کورٹ کے باہر دھرنا دیا جائے تب تک جب تک ان کے کیسز کی سنوائی نہیں ہوجاتی اور انہیں ان کے معالجین تک رسائ اور علاج کی مناسب سہولیات نہیں مہیا کی جاتیں۔ ہمیں فوری طور پر سپریم کورٹ کے باہر دھرنا دے کر اس بات پر زور دینا چاہئے کہ کورٹ اپنے احکامات منوائے اور ساتھ ساتھ فارم ۴۷ کی اس ناجائز حکومت کے خلاف توہین عدالت کی کاروائ عمل میں لائی جائے۔
عسکری ترامیم کے زریعے عدلیہ کا چہرہ مسخ اور آئین پامال کر دیا گیا لیکن اس کے باجود ہم خان صاحب کے حکم پر انہی عدالتوں سے انصاف مانگ رہے ہیں پھر بھی اگر اتنا عرصہ گزرنے کے بعد کیسسز کی سنوائی تک نہ ہوسکی اور اب باوجودعدالتی آرڈر کے علاج جیسی بنیادی سہولت بھی نہیں دی جاسکتی اور عدالت اس معاملے میں مکمل طور پر اپنی بے بسی ظاہر کرتی ہے تو یہ آخری نقاب بھی اٹھ جائے تاکہ پھر فیصلےعوامی عدالت میں ہوں اور انہی سڑکوں پر ہوں۔

@Markhorr313 Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t one of your very own DG ISPR once say in an open press conference that without our permission, even a bird can’t fly in our country? If that’s the case, then why is there so much worry and fear about terrorists or khawarij?
