His alleged “crime” is supporting King Reza Pahlavi. Yet his case is being met with disturbing silence, including from some human rights activists who refuse to even mention his name.

Ali Zarei took to the streets alongside his countrymen in 2022 after the death of Mahsa Amini.

Regime forces shot him in the eye, leaving him blinded. He left the country, but later returned. Upon his return, he was sentenced to death.

Yesterday, he was transferred to solitary confinement. His death sentence may be carried out at any moment.

علی زارعی، از آسیب‌دیدگان چشمی خیزش ۱۴۰۱ و زندانی سیاسی میهن‌پرست، در پیامی تلفنی از زندان قزل‌حصار اعلام کرد حکم اعدام ناعادلانه او در دادگاه جمهوری اسلامی تأیید شده است.

علی زارعی با تأکید بر این که هیچ اقدام خشونت‌باری انجام نداده، از سازمان‌های حقوق بشری و افکار عمومی جهان خواست تا صدای او باشند و نگذارند جمهوری اسلامی او را اعدام کند.
