US President Donald Trump's threat to deploy the US military into Nigeria "guns-a-blazing" has received unlikely support from within Nigeria itself. Many in Nigeria hold an erroneous belief that a US military invasion of Nigeria would result in enhanced protection of local lives and stabilisation of currently insecure areas.
These ideas, which are the results of decades of unrelenting Western neo-colonial influence over Nigeriaās porous educational, religious, and media spaces, are naĆÆve and dangerous. More importantly, they are completely wrong and ahistorical. The historical record of what US military invasion actually mean on the ground where it happens, tells a devastating story of indiscriminate brutality, widespread sexual violence, gratuitous destruction, and an aftermath of physical and cultural ruin, alongside scars that never heal.
In this video, you can listen to a so-called war veteran of the US-led invasion of Iraq bragging about making āhajisā (ethnic slur used by US soldiers to refer to Iraqis and Afghans) bark and walk around like dogs. āThe CIA showed us a lot of sh*t,ā he says. He proudly recounts witnessing a US soldier r*ping an āuntouched 15 year-old hajiā and pimping her out to other US soldiers for $50 a turn, which earned him $500 before she hung herself - an outcome that he seemed very cheerful about, judging by his mirth.
These events took place in the wider context of the 2003 US invasion of Iraq, following the so-called 9/11 terror attacks. After less than a month of the so-called āShock and Aweā invasion strategy, the country lay in ruins. US President George Bush promised a swift exit, but Iraq remained under official occupation until 2011, and even now still hosts 9 permanent US military bases and at least 2,500 US soldiers permanently stationed on its soil.
It wasnāt just Iraq. This has happened everywhere US jackboots have been. In September 2025, 117 South Korean women filed a human rights lawsuit against the US military, having been lured to US military bases with promises of jobs as bartenders, and then imprisoned in state-sanctioned brothels that serviced US troops in the 1960s and 1970s.
Your country could be next.
400 years later their descendants are still the same, no DNA test needed. They learnt nothing. āIf bill gates had any other motives he wouldnāt have given us 1 million dollars.ā āIf not for bill gates & his money we would all be dead. In fact heās even Better than JCā. Dunces.
When they started taking slaves.Even the ones who captured their kin & sold to slavery thought to themselves āhmm, Iāve been selling my kin to these slavers, theyāre my friendsā &ended up on slave ships too. So many stories of slavers sold along with those they came to sell
Iām sure the few chiefs who told their kings to be wary, bc thereās something else they pink people arenāt telling you were called āconspiracy theoristsā. Bc entertaining or processing more than 1 idea isnāt a part of the culture, surface value thinking is their forte.
I mean their ancestors thought to themselves āthese pink people that came on ships giving me gin, mirrors, beads & red wrappers are our friends. If they were bad why would they give us all these shiny things. Surely they crossed the ocean to be our friends. I laugh in Kunta Kinte
Nigerians are flat landers who can only perceive the world in 2 dimensions, the 3rd dimension is a āconspiracy theoryā, āheresyā, ā āa lieā. It was the downfall of their ancestors, itās their downfall today.
This very reason is why most Nigerians think chess is a difficult game & only some super smart people know play it, when itās just basic 3D thinking. Thatās why the slum guy thatās not in the top 1k world ranking has them thinking heās Gary Kasparov & they expected more from him.
But you see, entertaining two or more ideas that arenāt uniform or flat is where that world famous Nigerian āsharpnessā. Bc all ideas & thoughts must be Uniform, ignore nuances, interests, human nature. Etc.thatās too much to ask their processors to do. Itās a classic setup.
Or to consider that there are multiple interests at play on board.Instead they can only consider one & say any other possibility presented is a lie or āconspiracy theoryā
Eg.
-Thereās an ongoing genocide - True
- America is coming here bc they care about you - not true.
When they won a piece, they thought they were winning & didnāt understand how they lost when it happened. They canāt process strategy. The real life equivalent plays out everyday. Most people here can only process one idea or 1 thought, everything else is a lie. Multiple canāt exist
That was the problem. Everything wasnāt flat & uniform, where only one thing can be true & only one possibility could exist, bc they can only process one thought. in the game they fixated on one piece & ignored all others pieces, only to start asking āwait, what just happenedā.
The problem is that they couldnāt understand a system or game where all the pieces have different functions, operated by different rules & moved differently. The fact that at every point in the game you had to process multiple possibilities, & consider multiple threats as you move
I didnāt understand why. Itās a game like any other game. But I figured out the problem. From the people I tried to teach chess, just so I can have someone to play with. I figured the problem is that for some reason, Nigerians canāt understand complex systems. Govāt is an example.
Thereās a reason more Nigerians play ludo & draft than chess.Even when thereās a chess board available. Bc they fail catastrophically at 3D & abstract thinking,I donāt think theyāre even capable of it. So few are capable of it. Stay with me. Let me explain. Just wait.
