If Priyank Kharge is making these statements in his official capacity as Karnataka Home Minister, he should clarify:

1) Under which law is he asking for registration of RSS when registration of an organisation is not mandatory under Indian law?

2) Under which law is the Karnataka Home Minister demanding Income Tax-related details from RSS, when such matters fall under the jurisdiction of the competent authorities in the Income Tax Department under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and not the Karnataka Home Department?

3) Security cover to Mohan Bhagwat ji is based on threat perception assessments carried out by the appropriate authorities under the Union Home Ministry. Why is he raising questions on matters that are decided by those competent authorities?

4) Internal security and national-level threat assessments are handled by competent agencies under the Government of India. No agency has flagged RSS as an internal security threat, so on whose basis is he suggesting that non-registration constitutes an internal security concern?

5) If he has any specific questions regarding activities within Karnataka, he should proceed through the appropriate legal process and seek only such information as the law empowers you to seek. Why do he want details that are not connected with the functions and jurisdiction of his department?

4️⃣ Sufi Chisti/Khadri Silsilas: Vast Dargah networks managed via customary, unregistered lineages
5️⃣ Evangelical Fellowships: Hundreds of localized, unregistered prayer groups

Like the RSS, these parent movements are unregistered, while their individual local schools/properties use separate registered trusts.

Is this about public transparency, or is the accountability drill reserved for your just one organization?

One thing stands out in this letter

Nowhere does he cite a single provision of law, an Act of Parliament, a constitutional mandate, or even a court order that makes registration compulsory for a voluntary, decentralised organisation such as the RSS.

The reason is simple as no such provision exists.

Indian law does not mandate that every voluntary association or cultural organisation must register itself.

The debate should be based on law and facts, not political frustration.
