In the past, Chinese companies primarily purchased and used technologies from overseas. Today, an increasing number of global technology companies are willing to pay for patent licenses from Chinese companies, including Huawei. This shows that Chinese technological innovation is shifting from “importing” technology to “exporting” it.
Looking at Huawei’s IPR record over the years, the progress is hard to overlook.
It has built a portfolio of 165,000+ active patents and maintained the No. 1 spot in PCT filings for nine consecutive years.
More importantly, its technologies are being used and licensed by companies like Amazon, Nokia, Samsung, OPPO, and Xiaomi. With continued heavy investment in R&D, Huawei has clearly become a significant player in global technology and IP.

Not every major technology story starts with a product launch.
Sometimes, it starts with a licensing agreement.
HP Inc. and Huawei have announced a multi-year global patent cross-licensing agreement covering certain Huawei Wi-Fi technologies. For me, the significance goes beyond the deal itself. It reflects how intellectual property has become an increasingly important indicator of technological leadership.
Huawei's Wi-Fi innovations are already deeply embedded in the global technology ecosystem. By the end of 2025, more than 1.6 billion consumer electronic devices had adopted Huawei's patented Wi-Fi technologies. Over the past 12 months alone, Huawei added 25 new Wi-Fi licensees, including 11 Fortune Global 500 companies.
What's particularly interesting is the broader context. For many years, the global technology narrative was centered on China adopting innovations developed elsewhere. Today, we are increasingly seeing the reverse as well: technologies developed by Chinese companies becoming part of products sold worldwide through standards, licensing, and ecosystem partnerships.
Behind this shift is decades of investment. Huawei now holds more than 165,000 active granted patents globally, has signed over 260 patent licensing agreements, and invested CNY 192.3 billion in R&D in 2025 alone, representing 21.8% of its annual revenue.
The HP-Huawei agreement is a reminder that innovation is ultimately judged by whether others are willing to adopt it, build on it, and pay for it. In that sense, this deal is another strong signal of the growing commercial value and global relevance of Huawei's technology portfolio.
One of the most significant shifts in global technology isn't happening on a launch stage. It's happening through intellectual property.
The newly announced patent cross-licensing agreement between HP Inc. and Huawei, which includes licensing certain Huawei Wi-Fi technologies for HP's computers and peripheral devices, is another signal of how the global innovation landscape is evolving.
For decades, technology largely flowed from the West to China. Today, innovation is increasingly flowing in multiple directions. When a leading U.S. technology company chooses to license Huawei's Wi-Fi patents, it reflects the commercial value and technical relevance of Huawei's innovations in the global marketplace.
The scale behind this achievement is notable. By the end of 2025, more than 1.6 billion consumer electronic devices had used Huawei's patented Wi-Fi technologies, while over 3.2 billion 5G devices and more than 4.1 billion multimedia devices had incorporated Huawei's patented technologies.
Huawei's influence also stems from sustained investment in innovation. The company holds more than 165,000 active granted patents worldwide and invested CNY 192.3 billion in R&D in 2025 alone, representing 21.8% of annual revenue. Huawei has signed more than 260 patent licensing agreements globally and added 34 new agreements in 2025, including 22 with Fortune Global 500 companies.
In Wi-Fi, Huawei is widely recognized as a major contributor to Wi-Fi 6 and a leading holder of Wi-Fi 7 patents. Multiple industry reports rank Huawei among the global leaders in Wi-Fi 7 intellectual property.
The HP × Huawei agreement is more than a licensing deal. It reflects a broader reality: world-class innovation can come from anywhere, and the companies that create foundational technologies are increasingly being recognized, licensed, and adopted across the global ecosystem.

What I like here is that this isn’t just another text to video model.
Wan 3.0 gives you much more control over references and consistency, which is where serious AI video creation is heading.
6 hours a week back on my team's calendar, from one AI employee running our campaign ops.
One campaign quickly becomes dozens of posts to coordinate, drafts waiting for approval, deadlines to follow, live placements to verify, performance to track, and reports to rebuild.
That's exactly what happens inside our agency when we activate our network of AI creators.
I tested Viktor inside Slack to see if he could actually help with the operational side of this.
For the first couple of weeks I used him the way I use every other AI tool. Ask a question, get an answer, go back to the spreadsheet.
Useful, but I was still the one holding the whole picture in my head, and I nearly wrote him off because of it.
What changed was giving him the job instead of the questions.
We used him to turn our campaign activity into a complete weekly operations overview covering:
-Live and upcoming campaigns
-Scheduled creator posts
-Pending approvals
-Performance updates
Current blockers
-Priority tasks
Recommended next steps
And all of it lives directly inside Slack.
So instead of jumping between spreadsheets, conversations, dashboards and individual campaign notes, the team can immediately understand what is happening across every active campaign.
What has already gone live. What still needs approval. What needs attention. And what we should focus on next.
For me, that's where the value is.
Saving time on reporting is useful, but having one clear operational view becomes much more important when you're managing multiple creators and clients simultaneously.
We added 3 clients this quarter without hiring a coordinator to run the admin. That's the scale I wanted.
Most agencies answer a growing client list with another coordinator. That role was never the constraint.
A copilot helps you work. An AI employee works when you don't.
