Was very sad to see what is happening at Byjus today
Byjus was the flagbearer of Indian edtech and one of the most well known Indian startups globally
If they fail, the India startup story in the eyes of global investors will have an impact
Also, I feel extremely sad that so many people today seem extremely happy with the “i told you so” attitude. A lot of these people are apparently folks who are believers in the Indian startup ecosystem
I myself never thought Bjyus was so valuable, and detested their borderline unfair sales practices. But irrespective of anything what I think, until they are proven to be frauds, I would never root for the failure of a startup/entrepreneur which is one of the biggest names in our ecosystem.
Hope they come out of this. We definitely need our large unicorns to succeed
Just like how a Flipkart acquisition drives and creates 100 startups, big unicorn failures will sow a fear and make 100 other possible future founders go back to their stable jobs
