Kumkum Mohod has outdone her struggle to reach Asian Games by achieving what no Indian female could ever do earlier: to win a medal - that too gold - in recurve archery for the first time. And the individual gold is a perfect cherry on top to her silver and gold earlier in mixed team and women's team events! Kumkum and Neeru Dhanda are the greatest spectacles of India's Asian Games 2026
Exactly 100 days are left for 2027 and Vegetarians on my timeline are tired of listening and reading that they cannot get enough protein in their diet. It is a myth. A big myth.
Here is a meal-by-meal thread on how a vegetarian can eat up to 120g of protein daily WITHOUT any additional supplement or protein powder.

The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all.
A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue.
A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310.
These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it.
The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored.
A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone.

@foramshah6550@DTDCIndia@DtdcLtd@DTDCMumbai So essentially you spent almost double the charges of DTDC's standard service charges for the same location for this type of shoddy service from a supposedly "RELIABLE AND QUICK" brand. I know it's the 1st day after our independence day weekend, care to look into this @DTDCIndia
@foramshah6550@DTDCIndia@DtdcLtd@DTDCMumbai From Mumbai to Kerala? When was it collected and when was it supposed to reach? What is the status of the shipment on their tracking website?
Aap chronology samajh lijiye.
July 29:
"Show us the order proving Shah ordered firing" —Rijiju
"Shah couldn't have ordered firing; only a magistrate can" —Jitendra Singh
"There was no firing" —Piyush Goyal
August 7:
"You can't dictate that Shah must appear" —Rijiju
"The day the discussion begins here, and when Amit Shah responds, you won't be able to sit through it" —Rijiju
August 8:
"Shah is in Parliament every day" —Rijiju
August 12:
"Fine. Let's have a discussion. Start at 3 pm. I will personally sit there and answer everything for 24 hours" —Amit Shah
August 13:
Amit Shah in the front row, next to Modi.
This was the first time Shah entered the Lok Sabha during this entire 18-day session!
Speaker Om Birla entered the House.
Instead of taking up the promised discussion, the House first proceeded with the national song, Vande Mataram.
All six stanzas were rendered.
Members, including Modi and Shah, stood.
And immediately after it ended, Birla announced that the House was adjourned sine die.
As they say, patriotism is the last refuge...
Old timers got it right. And when you're poor, you don't have much choice. So our parents, their parents, did what they thought best back in the day.
Bought their house the hard way - slogging, saving, without home loan, borrowing from friends and family. Bought gold because gold is gold. Didn't understand stock market so stayed away. Bought an insurance policy because LIC is LIC and you get bonus.
Look what it got them.
Their kids got a home. That's the best security in a poor country. No home loan. They got the LIC policy. They got gold. All great products worth security and when you're poor, security means a lot.
Sure they missed the Infosys IPO but they also missed so many scams.
What did they do? They sent their kids to schools, colleges, and in a liberalised open India, these kids became VP, senior VP, in banks or IT firms and made more money than their parents and bought even bigger homes. And got very lucky with ESOPs. This is what education and economic reforms got for them.
Now their kids. Gen Z. With the security of parents who worked in MNCs, in the comfort of their 4BHK in Lower Parel. They write long posts on social media about how old India didn't have choice and invested in "garbage" like LIC policies, FD, gold, etc. Whereas the cool way is to log on to an app and invest in an index fund.
Sharam karo saalon. Your grandparents and your parents saw what the real India was. Have some respect.
For likes and follows you're ignoring and forgetting what India used to be and how prior generations gave their best and came out with results they're proud of.
Sharam karo.

Wearing the Indian jersey, singing the anthem, and trying my best each time I stepped on the field - it’s impossible to put into words what it truly meant. But as they say, all good things must come to an end, and with immense gratitude I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket.
Thank you for all the love and support! 🙏🇮🇳
