In a welcoming editorial for our upcoming party, Awaam Pakistan, Dawn writes: “Time will tell if Awaam Pakistan holds appeal for the public, or will fade away.” This is true. Time will tell whether or not we become popular. But I can promise we will come to power only through your votes, not through any deals, and we will shun dynastic politics.

Our party has two main ideas.

1. Equal Opportunity. All Pakistanis, irrespective of religion, sect, gender, ethnicity, and region should be given opportunity to get ahead in life and the state should provide a helping hand. Economic and other opportunities shouldn’t be restricted to the elites only.
2. Individual Agency/Liberty. Every citizen should have control over his or her own life. Their decisions shouldn’t be made for them by the local SHO, patwari, DC, MPA/MNA, and the government. They should be free to think, speak, act and vote the way they want and pursue their education, career, goals, etc the way they think is best.
