I'd argue they're not that much better (def improved position to be better in the future) but the 2 key acquisitions they made - Mitch+PG13 - wilt in playoff 4Qs, if they ever make it healthy to play.

@mattyglesias I don’t think he’s being “cheap” straight up. The luxury tax isn’t really a tax. There’s no fed government that collects and applies it. It just goes into a revenue pool to be shared with other [actually cheap] owners - and that’s something Dolan really hates doing.

I always loved, and will always love, Mitch - the unique basketball skills, the personality, that rebound off the missed FT in gm5 - but paying $20m for his availability, FTs, is a real Q.
Also, 🏆-haze made us forget he almost missed the finals cause he prob punched something.
