Every great platform starts with one step, then another, then another. 🎶
Find The Beat is evolving into more than a music website—it’s becoming a community where artists, producers, singers, musicians, churches, venues, and creators can discover opportunities, showcase theirs.
Five years of ideas, late nights, rebuilding, learning, and refusing to quit… and it’s finally time to start showing what I’ve been building.
This is Let’s Cook Y’all—a place to explore cuisines from Around the World 🌎 Y’all. 🍽️❤️

Remembering when that bald headed man and his bumpy neck sister came for my collard greens one time… they called em all day greens cause I didn’t know you had to do em low and slow…my mama used a pressure cooker… I said that to say I made some greens today and them mfers hit!!
I used to say I used to wanna be born in the 70s and grow up but now that I’m thinking about it…. I’d have like 50/11 kids… Got a baby by Teddy Pendergrass, David Ruffin, Corn, and Blue from Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Bobby Womack, and that daggum Barry White (he had a lil yn)
God brings people in and moves people out. Quit being discouraged over who walked away, who wouldn’t stay. If they left you, you didn’t need them. If they walked away, let them go. God has new relationships, new opportunities.
Fun Fact: I love Seinfeld 😂 you know George and Susan relationship was crazy. I just rewatched the episode where Kramer burnt down Susan Daddy cabin and they found her daddy love letters 😂😂😂now all I can hear is “John Cheever?!”
“Yes John Cheever! I loved him very deeply!” 😂
In 2020, I entered a grant competition funded by Pivotal Ventures and Melinda French Gates. They committed $40 million to organizations with ideas and missions focused on accelerating the power and influence of women and girls in underserved communities by 2030.
Our proposal was strong. We scored well and advanced to the later rounds. While we weren’t selected in the end, we refused to let that stop us from building what we believe can help create lasting change.
This is something I’ve been working toward for a very long time. That’s why hearing the “Song of the Summer” echoed by thousands of people at ESSENCE Fest made the mission feel even more daunting. It was a reminder of how quickly culture can amplify messages and how much work remains.
Even so, I still believe a small group of committed people working for the greater good can positively impact the world, even if they can’t change it entirely.
I sincerely hope the organizations that received those grants have multiplied their impact and will remember those of us still fighting the same fight with far fewer resources. Real change requires allies willing to invest in ideas that strengthen our communities.
Sometimes it’s difficult to see the full picture when you’re standing inside the frame.

Why do old folks think they’re automatically due respect because they’re old, you better get your old ahh somewhere to sit down. Respect is earned not just given. Young people deserve respect too.
