Here's @shallotly with some ideas for researchers of generative AI in journalism based on her observations at the @SRCCON conference: https://t.co/kxetNUZunY
How do you write news articles about AI technologies? We want to hear from you!
As part of a research study at Northwestern University, we’re conducting interviews with news practitioners and providing an opportunity to toy with a writing assistant for AI literacy.
You will be compensated for your participation at $50/hr, in the form of a digital Visa gift card to an email you provide.
If you are interested in participating in this study, please visit https://t.co/w1HZbthkoS to confirm that you are eligible.

📢 Check out the research roundup from #CHI2024 on generative AI in the newsroom by @nishalsach and @shallotly! From journalists' perspectives on AI's role to designing intelligent writing assistants, explore new research on how AI can impact journalism. https://t.co/TCM3K8905C
Howdy #CHI2024 -- looking for a postdoc? Come work with us @NorthwesternU on human-centered generative AI for news and journalism: https://t.co/MLEUgX912L -- I'm not in Hawaii, but happy to follow-up via email if any questions.
The Generative AI in the Newsroom (GAIN) initiative at @NU_SoC@MedillSchool is looking to hire a postdoc to research, prototype, and evaluate uses of generative AI in news production, with connection to broader ethical, legal, and social implications: https://t.co/MLEUgX912L

Is generative AI fit for news production? Evaluation is key! In this piece @nishalsach @shallotly and I develop a framework for thinking about evaluation in journalism revolving around output quality, interaction quality, and ethics alignment: https://t.co/zQHOZzXHkS
The @AP just launched a new survey on generative AI in newsrooms. How do journalists use (or want to use) generative AI in news production? What are the ethical concerns? If you're a journalist, share your knowledge and perspectives here: https://t.co/4RXRd6B4kc
Lots of fun collaborating with @shallotly on the dev side and for maps and illustrations with @MonicaSerrano_ @FossilFracas and @mizfellenz
But wait! There's more elephants stories here https://t.co/14JcJNXE0B
I had so much fun delving into interactive animations on the web for the first time, and @MonicaSerrano_ is simply just the coolest person ever. I was very lucky to get to work with her and the rest of the team, who poured time and patience into countless iterations of this.
Finally got this project to a place where it's stable enough (I think) to release out to the world. Thank you to all the folks that reached out asking for help on the old alpha versions.
Blog post coming soon...
