In January 2002, 15-year-old high school student Charles J. Bishop arrived at a Florida airport for a flying lesson.

Shortly afterward, he stole a small plane and took off alone.

Inspired by the September 11 attacks, Charles crashed the plane into the Bank of America Tower in downtown Tampa, hitting the building at the 28th floor.

The crash caused no structural damage to the tower. The plane got stuck in the side of the building. Charles was the only person who died.

Investigators later found a suicide note in which he praised Osama bin Laden and said he supported the September 11 attacks.

His mother sued the maker of his acne medication, arguing the drug had triggered the psychosis that killed her son.

Five years later, she dropped the lawsuit, saying she was physically and emotionally unable to continue.
