@Ferns__ @TheRealAllenFox It's like a single-pixel IR camera, will average everything within a circle that gets larger the farther away you are. At 10 feet and 25ºC ambient, I was getting over 43ºC for a 65W halogen vs. less than 27ºC for an LED. So it should work.

@IRuleSubsDrool @atlhiker I don't think this is true... e.g. pure PDMS is listed here (https://t.co/VrZpZNp7Vl) with resistivity of 4x10^14 Ω·m, well into great insulator range. Conductive composites with metal or carbon exist. But I'd think them uncommon in toys… and quick tests with multimeter support.

@Ferns__ The 60mm range in the diagram probably comes from just a 30mm max offset from the hole (doubled since it can be rotated either way). But does seem handy. I've always just had to be sure to pick the right length here.

@dommextra If the monitors only have HDMI inputs, you'll need a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. DP has a dual mode that supports HDMI-compatible output (https://t.co/ByjenlaZfO), so just a relatively inexpensive adapter is required (e.g. https://t.co/AN4b3gZkcJ), no special software or setup.
