My therapist once told me: Imagine being bitten by a snake and, instead of treating the bite, you waste time chasing the snake to understand why it bit you and prove you didn't deserve it.
The day you watch someone you love die infront of your eyes is the day you realize how powerless a human being really is. In that moment nothing matters. Not money, not status, not the things you work so hard to build. When death stands infront of you it doesn't care. You can buy comfort, you can buy time with doctors, you can buy a bigger house but you can't buy one more breath for the person slipping away infront of you. After that life changes nothing feels the same. Your smile changes, your sleep changes, the way you look at the world changes. You stop believing Tommorow is promised. You stop taking voices for granted. You stop walking past the people you love like they will always be there coz once you have seen death with your own eyes, you dont just grieve a person, you grieve the version of yourself that still believed that love can protect everyone.
