A profound moment in my career. I never imagined my identity being so important in my work. The more I share my story and how it connects to my professional practice, the more I grow. I will forever be grateful for all that @digication and others have given me with this work.

Last year I started the hardest professional development journey of my life. Crashing into—but ultimately through—barriers of discouragement, trauma, and self-doubt, I am officially an @iste certified educator.

@driscollkelly@digication@uaanchorage Such an honor to be able to share a side of me so few have ever seen! Thank you for the amazing experience, Kelly!
Aside from a support person that can assist with tech barriers, what key thing do you feel educators need to be more open to EdTech integration in learning experiences? How is that transferred to the student learning experience? What instructional support do you feel is lacking?
@LibraryBunag#AkEdChat A7: I really enjoyed @DanaEvans907 highlighting universal design & creating an inclusive culture in the classroom. I am working on how best to apply this practice in my own classes & am grateful for the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals!
@LibraryBunag#AkEdChat A6: Equitable education opportunities for our multicultural students. It's talked about extensively, but it's not something we are seeing in all classrooms yet. Barriers are not broken down until years after initial issues are reported by students—if at all.
@LibraryBunag#AkEdChat A5:
1. The ability to be transparent in all situations.
2. Recognizing what is and is not working.
3. Relationship building. Change leaders should demonstrate that they work with other community members and experts to bring different skills & experiences to the table.
@LibraryBunag#AkEdChat A4: I work with first-year AK Native students as a new educator and am using the opportunity to be a positive role model through my experiences as an AKN student and how they can take ownership of their learning experiences to thread culture and values in their work.
