In sha Allah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not die in office. He will complete his tenure, and those wishing him death will live to see it.
I honestly hate how some Nigerians are openly wishing death on him — it’s wrong, no matter your political differences.

In just the first quarter of this year, Boko Haram carried out over 397 attacks in Borno State alone, leaving 514 people dead and 357 others abducted, according to a report released this week by Beacon Security. The group's resurgence is fuelled by a shift to kidnap-for-ransom, expanded extortion through taxation, and the growing use of digital tools for coordination and propaganda—trends that must be swiftly and decisively halted.
While attacks on military bases remain deeply troubling, what’s even more alarming is the group’s evolving strategy: a calculated turn towards kidnap-for-ransom. This marks a disturbing shift in tactics. In the past, Boko Haram typically negotiated only with governments or executed captives.
Today, they are extorting ransom payments directly from families and communities—₦2 million here, ₦3 million there, ₦2.5 million to buy back loved ones. According to a source interviewed by HumAngle, the group has raked in up to ₦1 billion since 2014 through these ransom operations.
Simultaneously, Boko Haram has intensified its extortion regime. Traders, fishermen, farmers, herders, and other residents in areas under its control are forced to pay thousands of naira just to go about their daily lives. In return, they are issued “tax receipts” which must be presented on demand to avoid punishment—proof that the group is running a de facto criminal state.
These developments should ring alarm bells at the highest levels. The hard-fought gains against Boko Haram are rapidly unravelling. If this resurgence is not decisively halted, more lives will be lost, more communities will be displaced, and the threat will spread further across northern Nigeria. The years between 2011 and 2015, when Boko Haram’s insurgency devastated our security, economy, education system, and national psyche, are still fresh in our collective memory. We are dangerously close to reliving those dark days.
To avert this, the Federal Government must act urgently and decisively. First, it must ramp up military operations and take the fight directly to Boko Haram’s strongholds in the Lake Chad region, southern Borno, and northern Yobe. More troops and advanced equipment must be deployed to overwhelm and dismantle the group’s networks.
Second, Boko Haram’s financial lifelines must be cut off at the source. The ransom economy and forced taxation systems they’ve established must be disrupted through intelligence-led operations and tighter surveillance of informal financial flows.
Third, the government must address the group’s growing digital sophistication. Boko Haram’s use of high-speed internet, drones, and social media platforms—particularly TikTok—to spread propaganda, recruit followers, and coordinate attacks—must be swiftly curtailed through collaboration with tech companies and international partners.
Boko Haram is adapting. So must we. The cost of inaction is far too high.

This is the truth about who is doing the kidnappings in the South, he's talking about Uromi, the same place where some barbarians falsely accused our brothers of kidnapping and burned them alive. This is a testimony from one of their own.
