There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery.
The Fourth of July is about celebrating the big, bold, inclusive experiment that is our American democracy. And it has always been an experiment. Our democracy has never been guaranteed, which means we can’t take it for granted. We need to keep fighting for it, keep improving it, and keep making sure it reflects the better angels of our nature instead of the worst. That, more than anything, is what America is all about.
Trump reportedly asked oil executives for $1 billion last month, promising he'd roll back Biden's climate measures. Meanwhile, fossil fuel lawyers and lobbyists are already drafting executive orders for Trump to sign if he wins in November.

Big Oil is literally writing up Executive Orders for Trump to sign on Day 1 — with the promise of $1 billion in return.
He’s giving away our planet in return for cash.
Have we just accepted this as the new norm??
Watching Howard Stern thanking President Biden for his incredible leadership & compassion is EVEN better than listening to it. Take a minute to watch & then share this video far & wide. From all of us: Thank you, President Biden.
For years, I’ve been trying get answers to questions, questions about women’s health. For years I’ve heard the same thing over and over, “We don’t know.” How is it that we don’t know about half our population? Because we haven’t researched them! Women have been ignored in clinical research.
Well now, the @whitehouse is helping us get answers! I have been working with @flotus on the Women’s Health Research Initiative, and last week, $100 million in federal funding was announced or research and development into women’s health from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health. But this is also a call to all the tech companies, the innovators, the inventors, the game changers — we need you! We need your minds, your help to get these answers. We can make a difference by working together, and changing the way we think about women’s health. Who’s ready? #womenshealthresearch

In Texas, elected and appointed Republican officials have decided forced birth is legal. Even if it means a woman is left infertile, maimed, or dead herself.
In Arizona, the state's Supreme Court will consider an all-out criminal abortion ban today.
Across the United States, we cannot rest until reproductive freedom is a reality for all.
🚨DeNiro will NOT be silenced:
Legendary actor and outspoken Trump critic Robert DeNiro was FURIOUS when he learned that anti-Trump comments he'd prepared for a speech at the Gotham Awards in New York City were censored and deleted without his permission.
Upon learning that Apple, the backers of the film, allowed his remarks to be removed, DeNiro bristled at the notion of thanking them.
"I don't feel like thanking them at all for what they did. How dare they do that, actually," DeNiro said.
DeNiro had been discussing his latest project with director Martin Scorsese, "Killers of the Flower Moon," when he discovered that his own remarks critical of Trump were removed from the teleprompter.
So he read them from his phone.
"History isn't history anymore. Truth is not truth. Even facts are being replaced by alternative facts and driven by conspiracy theories and ugliness. In Florida, young students are taught that slaves developed skills which can be applied for their personal benefit."
"Lying has become just another tool in the charlatan's arsenal. The former president lied to us more than 30,000 times during his four years in office, and he's keeping up the pace in his current campaign of retribution.
But with all his lies, he can't hide his soul. He attacks the weak, destroys the gifts of nature, and shows disrespect — for example, by using 'Pocahontas' as a slur."
BRAVO to Robert DeNiro for always speaking the unvarnished truth to fans and critic alike.
BREAKING: In a devastating speech, iconic actor Robert De Niro rips Donald Trump to shreds, declaring that Trump is “not a bad man,” but “an evil one” who is a “wanna be tough guy” and has “no morals or ethics.”
But Robert De Niro didn’t stop there…
De Niro continued:
“Trump has no sense of right or wrong. No regard for anyone but himself — not the people he was supposed to lead and protect, not the people he does business with, not the people who follow him, blindly and loyally, not even the people who consider themselves his “friends.” He has contempt for all of them.
The repercussions of his turbulent presidency divided America and rattled New York City beyond imagination. Remember how we were jolted by crisis in early 2020, as a virus swept the world.
We lived with Donald Trump’s bombastic behavior every day on the national stage, and we suffered as we saw our neighbors piling up in body bags.
The man who was supposed to protect this country put it in peril, because of his recklessness and impulsiveness. It was like an abusive father ruling the family by fear and violent behavior. That was the consequence of New York’s warning getting ignored. Next time, we know it will be worse.
Make no mistake: the twice-impeached, 4-time indicted Donald Trump is still a fool. But we can’t let our fellow Americans write him off like one. Evil thrives in the shadow of dismissive mockery, which is why we must take the danger of Donald Trump very seriously.
So, today I issue another warning.
From this place where Abraham Lincoln spoke — right here in the beating heart of New York — to the rest of America:
This is our last chance.
Democracy won’t survive the return of a wannabe dictator.
And it won’t overcome evil if we are divided.
So what do we do about it? We have to take today into tomorrow – take it outside these walls. We have to reach out to the half of our country who have ignored the hazards of Trump and, for whatever reason, support elevating him back into the White House. They’re not stupid, and we must not condemn them for making a stupid choice. Our future doesn’t just depend on us. It depends on them.
Let’s reach out to Trump’s followers with respect. Let’s not talk about “democracy.”
“Democracy” may be our holy grail, but to others it is just a word, a concept, and in their embrace of Trump, they’ve already turned their backs on it. Let’s talk about right and wrong. Let’s talk about humanity. Let’s talk about kindness. Security for our world. Safety for our families. Decency. Let’s welcome them back. We won’t get them all, but we can get enough to end the nightmare of Trump.”
Well said, Robert De Niro!
Please retweet and ❤️ to thank Robert De Niro for calling out Donald Trump — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a woke new Twitter competitor that banned Trump for life and is exploding in popularity because Elon Musk banned Tribel’s Twitter account — but he forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: https://t.co/HnJzSKjCwX
