Najam Sethi, Sohail warraich and M Jahangir are giving lectures on “free speech” and “ democracy”. Their sense of humour is terrible just like their journalistic integrity
The growing number of 764 network victims in Pakistan is alarming. Recently, a 14yo girl was reportedly rescued in Karachi by the NCCIA. She was allegedly instructed to poison a cat and did so. Later, she was told to poison her family, prompting her to use AI, which alerted the authorities..
The 764 network is a disturbing online criminal network that targets vulnerable people, especially minors, through grooming, sextortion, blackmail, and coercion into self-harm and violence. Parents, schools, and social media platforms must take this threat seriously and work together to protect children from online predators.
Iran has published its targets in the event of aggression against it.
This list includes bridges, railway networks, airports, ports, underwater cables in the Persian Gulf, petrochemical plants, power plants, desalination plants, technology companies, and companies in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as hotels and shopping centers in the Middle East.
According to this scenario, in the event of an attack on Iranian infrastructure, there are likely to be major disruptions to transportation, energy, water supply, communications, and trade in the region, in addition to the initial targets, including American bases in the region.
President Lula states that he will "go all out" against Meta, saying that Brazil will not accept a foreign company negatively influencing Brazilians and humanity with a "digital empire."
Lula's reelection in Brazil is not just a domestic victory. It is the single biggest geopolitical defeat the US empire has suffered in Latin America in decades.
Here is what was actually at stake:
The Resources:
Brazil holds the world's second-largest rare earth reserves — nearly a quarter of the global supply. The US military-industrial complex is desperate for these minerals to break its dependence on China. The Bolsonaro dynasty was ready to hand them over. A US government-linked company already bought Brazil's only active rare earth mine from Bolsonaro-aligned oligarchs for $2.8 billion. They wanted Petrobras privatized next. Lula said no. These are our minerals. We will build our own economy.
Palestine:
Lula lost a finger in a factory at 17. He is the working class. The Bolsonaros are the landlords, the oligarchs, and the cheerleaders of settler colonialism. They waved Israeli flags at their rallies. They held Zoom calls with Netanyahu on stage. They posed with a map of Israel colonizing ALL of historic Palestine — Gaza, the West Bank, the Golan Heights. Lula stands with Palestine and calls the genocide what it is.
The Multipolar World:
Lula co-founded BRICS. He is building parallel financial systems to bypass the weaponized US dollar. He called for a new global reserve currency. He wants Latin America to trade in its own currency, free from Washington's sanctions. The empire cannot tolerate a continent that refuses to pay rent in dollars.
So how did Washington respond to a sovereign democratic choice?
Trump slapped Brazil with 50% tariffs — even though the US has a trade SURPLUS with Brazil. The tariffs were never economic. They were punishment.
Meta censored Lula's accounts and boosted Bolsonaro.
The Bolsonaro campaign hired a US AI company to spread disinformation.
Eduardo Bolsonaro literally called on Trump to send the US military to attack the Brazilian government.
They threw everything at him. Tariffs. Censorship. Disinformation. Coup attempts.
And they still lost.
The American empire tried to enforce the Monroe Doctrine with algorithms, tariffs, and a puppet dynasty. But the Brazilian working class just voted to keep their minerals, defend Palestine, and build a world where Washington doesn't get to decide who eats.
You can tariff the economy. You can censor the candidate. You can beg for a military coup.
But you cannot colonize a people who have already decided they belong to themselves.
Significant even brave intervention by Oman foreign minister @badralbusaidi at Cambridge calling for the Gulf States to form a non-aggression pact with Iran and Iraq. Says US should no longer be primary provider of security in region, adding external partners have imposed the most damaging of the priorities - "the requirement that Iran be excluded. Not just excluded. Worse. Positioned as the threat against which regional security had to be organised."
He argues "What holds us back is that issues which ought to be handled at a regional level by the states of the Gulf themselves, are made more complex, more intractable and sometimes simply impossible to resolve because the region's security arrangements are insufficiently developed.
"And they are insufficiently developed because they have relied for too long on the involvement of external powers.
"The complications which stand in the way of successful resolutions to both the Iranian nuclear issue and the question of free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz are simply the latest effects of an unstable combination of power projection and dependency in the Gulf.
"In other words, the nuclear issue and the Hormuz issue are both impossible to resolve because external powers continue to define the terms of engagement, while regional powers are unable to take collective responsibility for making their own security arrangements and reach a consensus on them".
Says Iran "has for nearly half a century been systematically excluded from playing any meaningful role in the security arrangements of the region.
"An exclusion with profoundly negative consequences, not just for Iran, but for the region as a whole".
He says "Instead of a genuine security structure designed to maintain stable relations between the eight states of the Gulf, an unstable regional system has been constructed on the entirely false perception that there is a fundamental regional antagonism between Iran and the Arab states of the Gulf.
"There is no such fundamental antagonism. There are problems, yes, of course. But the plain fact is that Arabs and Persians have lived in peace around the Gulf for centuries. It’s not a matter of whether you’re friendly or hostile to Iran.
"Today, Persia is a fact, 93 million people and three thousand years of history. Roughly half of the Gulf littoral.
"Any Gulf security architecture that doesn’t include them is inherently unstable. It’s structurally unsound. And recent events expose the terrible cost of allowing the false perception of antagonism and exclusion."
"It is us, in the Gulf, who ultimately bear the responsibility for devising, developing and implementing a new regional security structure.
The time has come when it no longer makes sense just to blame everyone else.
We need to begin a new regional dialogue on Gulf security, and we need to do so before other solutions are imposed on the region which would effectively consolidate the pattern of dependency and exclusion for which we urgently need to find an alternative.
What is needed, instead, is a new and inclusive framework, involving all eight Gulf littoral states".
Baghdad had some of the best education in the Middle East in the 70s/80s. Saddam Hussein spent 6% of GDP on education in the 80s. People across the region would go to colleges there. Female enrollment skyrocketed.
Libya had free education under Gaddafi. He rose literacy rates up to 88%. Female secondary education rose 47%.
U.S. intervention (at the behest of Israel) created failed states, power vacuums, and the radical terrorist ISIS groups we see today (that the United States funded to overthrow Bashar Al Assad in Syria).
The Middle East has been destroyed because Israel was shoved in, and instead of having a U.S. foreign policy agenda that worked in its best interests and sought regional stabilization, it was dragged into the “war on terror” that has only caused more radical groups to flourish.
Then this guy acts like a fool and doesn’t understand how we got where we are today. Stop talking about academic achievement when you extrapolate medical research like a tin-foil hat idiot.
Brazil President Lula da Silva:
“I want to say loud and clear: The Prime Minister of Israel is carrying out a GENOCIDE against women & children. This is a historical FACT.”
Prof. Richard Wolff:
‘Russia🇷🇺 & China’s🇨🇳 goal was to be safely away from the DISINTEGRATION of the unipolar empire moment of the United States.
They want to watch the United States IMPLODE on itself, unable to fight two wars at the same time.
We are full of information in this country that one of the reasons Mr. Trump can't do what he would like to do in Iran is the US, doesn't have the munitions anymore.
Well, that's another way of saying what every other empire that collapsed said in the final years of its collapse: it was overreaching. It was trying in too many ways to hold on to the empire against the resistance of too many people coming at them from too many directions.
That's what Iran demonstrates now, in the most dramatic way. This relatively poor country that no one in the United States ever took seriously is in the position of blocking the American military from doing what nothing else in the United States can do, which is to bring them to heel.
The Russians and the Chinese, but for sure the Chinese, their interest is: let's not get drawn into this, because it's an economic story.
For the last 35 years, the economic growth of the GDP, the gross domestic product of China, was larger, two to three times larger than that of the United States.
Therein, everything is understandable.
They have time on their side. They've had it for the last 35 years, which is why they are the power they are now.
The longer they can survive, the better the odds are getting that they will come through the decline of the Western Empire in a way that the Western Empire cannot do.
And so I think what you're watching is you're watching the Chinese watching the West, and watching the West learn the lesson. Russia made the deal with China much earlier than the rest of them, and is going to be benefiting from it as it already is.’

Pakistani neo-liberlas salivating at a populist leftist winning in a country in South America thousands of milesa away but gaslighting a populist's victory in their own country not too long ago is hilarious.
They do this to make 'populism' as some sort of electoral fraud.
Utter farcical joke what these status quo journalists said whilst eating and drinking! Squealers of animal farm! They remained quiet for over 4 years over what has been happening to journalists in the country. Never spoke up once for those who have stood up to the regime and been punished yet they have the gall to make facetious comments about freedom of speech. 🤮🤮

It takes some time, but eventually, Imran Khan is almost always proven right on the big things.
He is the most powerful voice for peace, justice, and human dignity in the world at a time when all three are in short supply.
There is a reason why those who want to cash wars have kept him locked up in a prison cell for the last 3+ years.
