Nice review of "A Place of Secrets" in the Toronto Star today, right alongside Michael Connolly's new novel. The first book in the series, "As We Forgive Others" also received a positive review in The Star, which bodes well for The Northern Gothic Mysteries' growth. #crimenovels

Many readers of "As We Forgive Others," which won the Crime Writers of Canada Award for Best Novel Set in Canada, were hoping for a sequel. There were secrets that needed to be revealed. Well, the next one, told from Alice Morrow's perspective, is about to launch. #crime novel
I got the idea for my latest YA (and adult) novel "Show" before the current president of what is often referred to as "America" first came to power, and it's set in an imagined 1899, but as the days pass this year, it continues to surprise me how contemporary its concerns remain.
Hugh Mercer has come to a small town in Ontario, far away from his broken career, broken marriage, and broken life in New York. Before he has a chance to settle into his rented farmhouse, a strange woman appears on his doorstep and makes a startling prediction: Elizabeth Goode, a local, is about to disappear under bizarre circumstances and her life is at risk. Mercer needs further information, but as quickly as she appeared, the stranger is gone.
You wonβt want to put down @Shane_Author's novel, AS WE FORGIVE OTHERS! #CravingCanLit
"Show" now in stores, is off to a great start with several lovely reviews, The Children's Books Council in the U.S. listing it as one of its "Hot Off the Press" books of "anticipated bestsellers" and this interview with me about it from "Open Book"

"Show" comes out today! For YA and adult readers, a tale of adventure, entertainment, suspense and the importance of respecting others, all others. Set in an imagined 1899 in North Britain and the Empire of America. Hopefully, more than just entertaining! In stores now! #books
