Wherein single parents Zee and NuNew first got to know each other during a parent-teacher conference after their six-year-old children got involved in a fight with a classmate.

Apparently, the little girl — Zee’s daughter — was being bullied, and NuNew’s son had stepped in to defend her. What started as a troublesome incident at school unexpectedly brought their parents together.

Soon, playdates became a regular thing. At first, it was all for the kids, or at least that was what they told themselves.

Somewhere along the way, the playdates became an excuse for Zee and NuNew to spend more time together too. Coffee runs turned into long conversations, quick goodbyes stretched into lingering moments, and before either of them realized it, they were becoming something more than just two single parents who happened to meet through their children.

Everything was going well… until one day, Zee asked NuNew for a favor: to look after his daughter for a little while.

It should have been harmless.

But an unexpected accident landed Zee’s daughter in the hospital.

And Zee?

He was furious.

Because someone had to be blamed, and NuNew was the last person he expected to hurt the only person he loved most.

Then one day, photographer Zee receives a photo of himself sleeping.

“Find NuNew before it’s too late.”

The problem?

NuNew doesn’t seem to exist.

Yet he’s everywhere.

In old crime scene photos.

In security footage.

In the background of every victim’s last known image.

Some say he’s a witness.

Some say he’s the killer.

Others swear he died years ago.

As Zee digs deeper, he discovers that every clue leads back to a forgotten tragedy and somehow, to him.

Then the newest photograph is released.

And for the first time, the victim is not a stranger.

It’s Zee.
