@HoneyBadgerFan9@RedSox AI snippets are often incorrect. It doesn't matter what order it happens in - he reached out over the plate in front of the swing.
@MoeSauce__ @kai2ballin @AdamSchefter wrong scheme. they wanted him to play more of a traditional role, so he had to do more on the field and he never managed to adjust.
In the latest article about Kamala Harrisโ staff turnover in the Washington Post, former staffers complain that she expects her team to be just as prepared as she is, and to be able to explain everything they put in her briefings and schedule.
you'd think an organization that just had to rebuild itself almost in entirety due to its lack of safeguards and noncompliance would be more thoughtful in the positions they take.
for that matter, what about the fundamental injustices of ai tech? the massive amounts of energy, the absolutely opaque way they use data, the inherent biases, the scraping of content for training data without renumeration, the lack of regulation or safeguards?
and what does the publishing industry have to do with nanowrimo anyway? since when was a "path to publication" a goal of nano? i thought their mission was to promote literacy through creativity. not to profit off of publisher partnerships.
furthermore, the statement that economically disadvantaged and minority writers lack access to the industry may be true, but it doesn't have much to do with the fundamental conversation about AI. it doesn't magically grant them access to the industry.
how? ai created content cannot be copyrighted, so using those tools potentially strips writers of their ability to protect their work. it also leverages other people's work to function, many of which was input without the writer's consent.
but imo this is an irresponsible and poorly researched take. re: editors - this has nothing to do with the core function of nanowrimo (the event itself). also it potentially screws over the same writers who lack resources in the first place.
basically, their argument is that being against AI is classist and ableist because:
- not everyone can hire professional editors
- not everybody has the cognitive ability to be a writer (as i understand it at least)
- some people don't know the language & need more resources
@Experian_US I shouldn't have to call you people during business hours to close a checking account I never used and didn't want just to avoid your constant spam about it
