@DaphneRHansell This is you in West Chelsea.
Clement Clark Moore Park at 10th & 22nd. Very different vibe than Chelsea itself (where you spent your first two years).

@DaphneRHansell So the world wants to know: How does bribe income vary by state Medicaid policy? And what would the Big Beautiful Bill do to the bribe income of Americans?
@DaphneRHansell Many of my recent conversations with my son, Clay, are about the Seven Years' War, Prussian military culture, and life in 18th-century London, all topics about which I knew nothing. Clay, a writer, is working on a historical novel. I love how my kids have turned out.
@DaphneRHansell The Mongols, it turns out, built their empire by embracing the diversity, talent, ideas, and science of the people of Eurasia. They supported freedom of religion and rejected torture. When they conquered
a people, they dismantled the aristocracy and empowered the lower classes.
@DaphneRHansell Thank you @DaphneRHansell for picking the Ghengis Kahn bio to listen to as we drove to move you to your new digs in Arlington. It's been fascinating.
I couldn't be prouder of my daughter, @DaphneRHansell, who is starting as a research analyst at @ThePolicyEngine. She'll be working with the brilliant @MaxGhenis on "expanding PolicyEngine's tax-benefit microsimulation capabilities and uses, especially in the health space!"
Super excited to share that I'm joining @ThePolicyEngine as a Research Analyst!
Can't wait to contribute to free, open-source software to compute the impact of public policy.
@pahlkadot In my experience, even if you show the HHS rules to a healthcare provider, they have been so frightened by privacy consultants they won't accept that the law gives patients rights, not obligations. https://t.co/dcCON8UuYc.
@pahlkadot I don't know if bananas are shadowbanned. But the folk interpretation of regulations are often cruel caricatures. e.g.: Doctors are told HIPAA says they can't use regular email. In fact, patients can choose any way to communicate, including skywriting if they want.
@danpfeiffer@danpfeiffer In a national race, how much is volunteer capacity a scarce resource? Would adding 20% more volunteers shift the needle or are there diminishing returns?
Important advanced warning about what we need to do now to keep tabs on Bird Flu. Health journalists: take note. (Also, first policy paper published by @DaphneRHansell, my daughter.)
My first for @NiskanenCenter
We aren't testing enough people for bird flu. Some key regulatory barriers are preventing manufacturers from helping. We should be streamlining FDA approvals, and incentivizing labs to make H5N1 tests.
