• Minyak masak jual dalam kilo (kg) disebabkan ia stabil terhadap suhu persekitaran (ambient temperature). Beli waktu sejuk ke, panas ke beratnya kurang berubah.
• Juga, kita je beli ikut kilo (kg), kedai komersial ikut isipadu, liter (L).
• Manakala petrol & diesel lebih mudah untuk berubah berat bila suhu persekitaran berubah².

Berdasarkan Coefficient of Thermal Expansion, bila suhu naik 10°C:
• Petrol = isipadu kembang 0.95%
• Diesel = isipadu kembang 0.82%
• Minyak masak = isipadu kembang 0.64%
