So now the UPDF elects MPs for itself and we’re supposed to clap? This isn’t leadership it’s the final burial of civilian rule. Parliament was created to check the gun, not to be occupied by it.

After nearly 40 years in power, you are still talking about “solvable needs”? If leadership was about solving problems, Uganda wouldn’t have record youth unemployment, collapsing public healthcare, and millions trapped in subsistence poverty after four decades of one man rule.

You claim the UPDF “secured peace,” yet elections are run under soldiers, citizens are beaten for wearing red, opposition leaders are abducted, and votes are guarded by guns. That is not peace that is fear enforced by uniforms.

PDM won’t lift anyone out of poverty when corruption is protected, accountability is criminalised, and soldiers sit in Parliament rubber-stamping budgets while hospitals lack drugs and schools lack teachers.

A country where the army votes for itself, governs civilians, and shields power from scrutiny is not developing it is sliding into full-blown militarised dictatorship.

Uganda does not need more generals in Parliament.
Uganda needs Museveni out of power.

If you want to watch a video that will break your heart, look at what happened in Butambala as families were laying to rest their loved ones who were shot dead at Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi’s home.

Mothers crying over coffins. Children asking questions with no answers. A community buried in fear and grief. This is the Uganda many are forced to live in.

These were not criminals. They were citizens. Their only crime was being in a country where bullets answer questions that justice should.

As we argue online, families are burying their own. This pain is real. These deaths are permanent. And silence in the face of this cruelty is complicity😭😭😭😭😭.

Many others endured hardships alongside you — from heightened security pressures, restrictions on movement and speech, to the emotional toll of contesting in an environment fraught with tension and uncertainty. Yet through it all, you carried the hopes of millions of Ugandans who long for accountable leadership, respect for human rights, and a future where every citizen’s voice matters.

For your courage in confronting these challenges, for your unwavering conviction that Uganda deserves a better tomorrow, and for inspiring so many with your belief in peaceful democratic change — we thank you. What you have stood for is bigger than the results of any one election; it is part of a wider movement toward dignity, inclusion, and justice for all Ugandans.

We ask you: never to give up. Your spirit, your leadership, and your willingness to fight for the rights and dignity of ordinary Ugandans have already changed the national conversation.
