I want to show WordPress self-hosters how far you can push a $5 VPS: Cloudflare, security, caching, scaling, high-traffic WooCommerce, and everything I’ve learned running WordPress infrastructure.
Watch a YouTube video at 2× for a minute - your brain resists.
Drop it to 1.5× - suddenly it feels easy.
Push beyond the limit, then ease back.
That’s how you train comfort.
Saw a nerd build something like this a couple of years ago… it’s dead now 😅
So I rebuilt it for fun — a CLI+UI tool to audit server security ⚡
Powered by Cloudflare Workers + Hono. Still a work in progress, but here’s a sneak peek 👀
Finally, building things I used to only think about.
I made a tool called PressCtl — it provisions a server, sets up a full LEMP stack, and deploys a WordPress site in under 7 minutes.
The config side is powered by Ansible. The CLI is written in Go (had some help from Claude on that part).
If you’re into self-hosting, WordPress hosting, or just like building your own stack — let’s connect.
Dropped an intro video and the link in the thread.
