Hello Chicago! π
We're so excited to announce the launch of our FOURTH wholesale food rescue operation.
Weβll be collecting fresh produce daily from the Chicago International Produce Market and delivering it to local communities that need it most.
When snow hits, some families face spending more on heating bills and less on food. At Sharing Excess, we help by rescuing surplus food and distributing to those in need.
No one should choose heat or eat.

Food waste is so much more than just food.
21% of all freshwater in the U.S. is used to grow food that never gets eaten. π
Saving food is one of the most effective climate actions we can take.
Because when food is wasted, water is wasted too. And neither should be. π§π±
That's a wrap on @PhillyInquirer Food Fest!
Our first ever, and one for the books. Grateful for the partners, chefs, creators, guests, and colleagues who helped turn an ambitious idea into a sold-out celebration of Philly food culture. Already dreaming up year two. #INQFoodFest
This is One Philly in action!
Partnerships, people, and purpose coming together to strengthen our communities in times of need.
Β
Thanks to @Aramark, @sharingexcess, and @foodconnectgrp, our βOne Philly Produce Projectβ will bring fresh, healthy food directly to 43 Extended Day, Extended Year and community @PHLschools where our children learn and families gather.
Β
As we navigate the SNAP crisis, the βOne Philly Produce Projectβ is just one of the many ways that the @PhiladelphiaGov is stepping up to help neighbors in need β building a stronger, healthier city β one family, one meal, and one school at a time.

π¨Weβre in the middle of a real emergency. Because of the government shutdown and the fact that SNAP is running out of funds, 42 million Americans who rely on food assistance could be left without help.
π Go here if youβre ready to STEP UP and help our brothers and sisters in need: https://t.co/qFwz9ECqhL
Thatβs 42 million people β families, children, and seniors β who will go hungry unless WE, the people, step up.
Iβm partnering with @sharingexcess, an extraordinary nonprofit that rescues and redistributes surplus food nationwide. Iβve personally committed to 50 truckloads of food β thatβs 1.5 million pounds, enough to feed 4,000 families for a full month.
But this crisis is far bigger than any one of us. We need your help right now.
$1,290 sponsors one truckload of food β 30,000 pounds β enough to feed more than 80 families for a month.
Please join me in filling the gap during this critical time. Every truck, every dollar, every act of generosity matters. Thank you for your compassion and your willingness to step up when it matters most. β€οΈπ
