@LeahRebeccaUK@Mattisamazing33 Yes, it is. Don’t care that it’s a BMW in a posh frock, it’s a bloody good car. Unlike an old Mini, I won’t have an engine sat in my lap if I hit anything at more than 8 mph! 😘
@LeahRebeccaUK@hollywoodscifi I stopped watching when Chibnall took over. Weak storytelling, & Jodie Whittaker really struggled (So wanted her to be brilliant). Absolutely not her fault, you can only portray what you’re given & if what you’re given is weak as a wet paper bag, there’s only so much you can do.
@Elidanza Definitely prefer the newer version. As good as the older version undoubtedly is, it does have the feel of not being quite finished. New version feels like the complete article.
@TrueNerth@anon_opin I get where you’re coming from, but Survivors was about the aftermath of a virus, not nuclear bombs. Clearly remember the glass flask being dropped in the opening credits. Scared the bejeezus out of nine year old me!
@LeahRebeccaUK@ISedman So might get better overall performance from RP6/CM9 combo than RP3/703 combo, after all, speakers can only reproduce what’s fed into them. I’d certainly suggest the audition, & follow your own judgement. Between the RP6/Ania & the phono stage, it cost me £2k & worth every penny.
@LeahRebeccaUK@ISedman Heard very good reports of the 703’s, though I might suggest also auditioning the Planar 6/Ania MC. Got my first RP3 near 30 years ago and absolutely adore them, but when I heard an RP6/Ania I was amazed how much more it pulled from the vinyl than the RP3. 1/2
@ISedman@LeahRebeccaUK Nice kit. I now run Rega Planar 6/Ania MC, Rega Elex-R into B&W CM6 S2’s. Mid terrace house with walls half a mile thick, so no complaints yet, and I’ve been here two dozen years! One day I’ll win the lottery and get those B&W Nautilus, neighbours might bang on the walls then! 😂
@ISedman@LeahRebeccaUK Yep, spot on. MF rep came in the shop, said these are basically a loss leader to get budget kit users into “Proper” MF stuff! Five hundred quid sound for £300.
To help convince us, he said we can have anything for a hundred quid. Bought amp/CD/tuner! 😂 Still using the tuner.
@sgc929@LeahRebeccaUK Quite agree, but then in 95/96 the Marantz CD63 mkii KI Signature turned up. I was selling hifi for a small independent then, so could audition just about everything, and tbh, it lived up to the hype. Exceptional piece of kit that outperformed some stuff that was twice the price.
@LeahRebeccaUK@ISedman I have 30yr old Musical Fidelity amp & CD player just sitting around. They were bloody good for their price point (Though the amp could use a service), but I’ve got no friends (No surprises there) that would appreciate them. I keep them in case my Rega amp/Marantz CD have probs.
