A team of SAHMRI scientists has discovered a new type of cell with the potential to enhance the future of tissue repair and generation.
Cells with similar functions have been theorised to exist for over a century but, until now, had never been found.

SAHMRI was extremely honoured by the visit from Nobel Laureate Professor David Julius and Professor Holly Ingraham, who made time to speak with our researchers during the only stop on their visit to Australia. 👨🔬
It is imperative that funding for future MRFF projects is made based on the health and medical research needs, and “not targeted towards the needs of a particular electorate or granted at the behest of lobbyists” - Dr Emily Colvin, ASMR President

Very grateful for the opportunity to present early work from my PhD as part of the Young Stroke Researcher Session at my first @ESOstroke Conference! @sahmriAU @GradSchoolUofA @UniofAdelaide
Chance of temporarily exceeding 1.5°C global warming:
🟢 2015 ≈ 0%
🟡 2017-2021 ≈ 10%
🟠 2023-2027 ≈ 66%
Today's @WMO report shows we must accelerate action this decade to avoid the worst impacts of #ClimateChange.
The #MRFF EMCR scheme is a welcome initiative, it's importance is evident from the # of applications
Dismal success rates, delayed outcomes + a lack of feedback must be fixed.
EMCRs invest a lot of time to apply.
MRFF needs to invest more in our EMCRs.

#Stroke2022 Some exciting stuff in the Epidemiology and Prevention session on @SSA_Stroke. A project looking at bio markers in TIA https://t.co/fB4KlrdaFE Looking forward to @sharmadeeksha22 results.
Deeksha @sharmadeeksha22 is a second year PhD candidate with the stroke research programme @UniofAdelaide and is investigating novel protein and lipid biomarkers in plasma to diagnose transient ischaemic attacks and reduce the risk of ischaemic stroke #ASMRMRW2022 🧵10/
