China has a rare opportunity to use what @KMbappe said to educate the world about Mao Zedong and what he represents to China. Instead, it is condemning Mbape outrightly. The West has largely portrayed Mao negatively, and many Western children know little about him beyond that narrative. China should partner with Mbappe to tell its own story. You challenge a narrative by educating the world, not condemning those who know little about your history!
