Year 5 are studying 'Owen and the Soldier' by Lisa Thompson - It's a story based on the relationship between a young boy named Owen and a crumbling stone soldier in the local park.  The children will be learning about WW1 and looking at the War Memorial in Mansfield Woodhouse.
