The comments to this prove how dumb most people are.
When you realize most people are like this, you realize it’s easy to separate yourself and become successful. Your competition is nothing.
Awful take. This is standard procedure if you’re trying to miraculously win the game.
There couldve easily had been a second or two remaining after he hit that to then attempt an onside to throw a Hail Mary.
The chances were obviously slim but what they did was their last shot and only hope.
Sure investigate them but there’s most likely nothing there.
Usually the winning team would be the ones to rig it if it was rigged. Raiders are horrible and could’ve easily had been down way more points. They didn’t know heading into the the 2nd half if they were going to be down 10 or 30.
If they threw a Hail Mary, there would guaranteed be no time left. Kicking a field goal leaves the chance for their to be a second or two remaining. And if there’s a second or two remaining you can attempt an onside kick. To then attempt a Hail Mary.
Obviously it would’ve taken one of the biggest miracles ever, but that was there last shot and only hope. Hail Mary = Guaranteed no time left. Knee = Guaranteed no time left. Field goal = possible time left.

@TheJeffZito There were 5. And theoretically, yes it could’ve with even 1 second left.
If your team recovers an onside without the other team touching it, there’s no time deducted.
Obviously a long shot, but if they’re playing to win, they kick the FG there.
@sportstalkmatt With 5 seconds left there’s easily a chance you hit that field goal with a second or two left on the clock to then attempt the onside.
The chances are obviously extremely slim, but the Raiders procedure there was their last shot and only hope.
People screaming this was “rigged”
If you’re playing to miraculously win the game, what the Raiders did was standard procedure.
They were hoping to hit a field goal, recover an onside kick, and hit a Hail Mary.
Everyone should be all for teams playing to win until 0s are on the clock.
What else were they supposed to do here? Take a Knee? Throw a Hail Mary? Both of those options Guarantee a Loss.
Kicking a field goal with hopes there’s still time remaining was there absolute last shot.
If you bet on the Broncos here, that’s on them for letting the Raiders hang around.
When you attempt an onside and if you recover it before the other team touches it, there wouldn’t be a second wasted. They would’ve had a chance at a Hail Mary with one second left.
Obviously the chances were sub half a percent. But if you’re playing to miraculously pull off a win, that is also what you’d do.
