Everything is a sliding scale
Even if you feel powerful every day, SOME days you will feel MORE powerful than other days
The key is to make your bare minimum POWER and ENERGY better than everyone else's MAXIMUM
Outcompete the average man’s best day on your worst
I consider myself willing to do any story that’s true. Having a point of view doesn’t exclude prizing independence and separation from politics. A lot of young journalists have been talked out of the idea of that objectivity is an important aspiration.
“Bob Woodward, appearing on Fox News, called the dossier a “garbage document” … later he said, “To be honest, there was a lack of curiosity on the part of the people at the Post about what I had said, why I said this, and I accepted that and I didn’t force it on anyone.”
It just has to be a good story. I don’t believe I’m supposed to care what it is. It’s not a hard concept to explain to a certain kind of journalist. In my career I’ve done stories that are extremely unflattering to Republicans, Democrats, both, neither, etc.
Instead of tracking how “Russia” influenced American attitudes, Hamilton 68 simply collected a handful of mostly real, mostly American accounts, and described their organic conversations as Russian scheming: https://t.co/vxnKAoI9T7
