I rarely post on this platform, but I gotta say... That last episode of #ThePitt really hit hard. I bawled my eyes out. As a healthcare professional, I really felt his pain and struggle. Stuff we as healthcare workers never talk about, and often have a hard time explaining. Wow.
We often hear about lessons learned from COVID & the degree to which we are prepared for the next pandemic.
The answer is painfully clear; we are not where we need to be.
H5N1 has epidemic/pandemic potential & is spreading in plain sight under our nose (US dairy farms) with a lacklustre response.
While there is now significant improvement in the response in recent days, speed/transparency/action is is key, and we did not see that upfront.
"Lessons learned" are only as good as the action we take from them.
I didn't even realize that this was still a thing. Still an issue. It's mind boggling. I feel so ignorant, in the reverse way. #loveislove#PrideMonth

This makes me so angry. Number of beds does not equate to number of nurses and doctors to cover those beds. Go take a nap in one, minister, because that's all they're good for. https://t.co/g4tuUXwxrV
