Enjoyed this conversation in Bhagyanagar with @annamalai_k, @TheDeverakonda & @Rahul_Sankrityn on the Madras Famine of 1877 & #Ranabaali. This version lasts for 1.55.34 hrs. For those asking for my views on "SSR", watch 47.41 onwards.

It’s hard to understand why state governments can spend ₹4 lakh crore on direct cash transfers to win elections, but the Centre finds it difficult to spend even ₹2,000 crore to manage the UPI system.
Here are three reasons why we think imposing a surcharge on UPI transactions above ₹2,000 is a bad idea.

Meat is core to Shakta Hinduism. It is offered to Ma Durga and Ma Kali as part of the ancient rituals. The Prasad eaten by the devotees on Navami/Dasami at Durga Puja is meat. Any interference in this sacred ritual will not be tolerated.
Name of the person who threw papers r judges :
Prabal Pratap Singh , he is not an advocate but a common citizen who appeared in the Supreme Court as a petitioner in person
He was arguing his own case challenging an Allahabad High Court order.
He represents the frustration of every india fed up of the current Indian state and its four pillars of democracy
Prabal didn’t throw papers at the judges.
He threw years of ignored frustration at a system that has forgotten it exists to serve people, not rule over them.
The anger is brewing and it will explode one day
The way Ambedkar Jayanti is becoming a bigger event with each passing year, I think, in the coming years, it'll become the biggest festival in India, much like Chinese New Year for China or Thanksgiving for the US.
It could turn into a seven-day festival, with schools and offices organizing events to commemorate it each day. Indian migrant workers might start returning from abroad to celebrate it. We might even begin inviting foreign heads of state to attend, much like on Republic Day. The state currency could feature Ambedkar, and every year there could be a new tallest statue of Ambedkar, each one taller than the last.
Oracle fired 12,000 of its Indian workforce and is expected to sack more.
Another reminder of how fragile stability is in the private sector. One secures employment, income begins to flow, long-term plans take shape, home, car, loans, EMIs. And then, a single decision by the corporate to “rationalize” or “downsize,” and everything collapses overnight.
Unless you quickly re-enter the job market, fixed liabilities don’t pause; they compound stress and can upend an otherwise steady life.
While you earn, you must pay taxes. The moment you lose your job, you’re on your own. In fact, you even have to pay tax on the severance also.
Maybe it’s time to introduce reforms, such as mandating severance pay ranging from three months to one year based on an employee’s tenure, as is the norm in the West; allowing EMI pauses for a 3-6 months; and providing a time-bound monthly allowance from the govt for involuntary job losses.
If Ladla/Ladlis can get free money, free ration, free water, and electricity, without paying any income tax, why not support a worker who has been paying taxes and contributing?
A report says that had SC worked 10% more days since 1950 it would have passed 28% more verdicts. In "RAW DISPATCH FROM MY DESK" i explain why with 80,000 plus cases pending it is wrong for milords to continue taking long vacations in keeping with colonial era tradition.
प्रिय @PMOIndia@narendramodi,
CJI should think that when he is sitting on such a high constitutional post, he should understand the meaning of 'Milord' and uphold its dignity...You go to Mauritius and say that the country will not run with a bulldozer. I ask the CJI and those opposing me: Is the bulldozer action by Yogi ji against those who encroached on government property wrong?...I am hurt and will continue to be so.
To the ecosystem who's labelling me Terrorist
"I am against violence. I am an MSc, a gold medallist. Very educated. I was not intoxicated. So, you have to ask what brought me to express my frustration in this way."
My name is Dr Rakesh Kishore. Can someone tell my caste? Maybe I am a Dalit too. It is one-sided that you are taking advantage of the fact that he (CJI Gavai) is a Dalit. He is not a Dalit. He was a Sanatani Hindu first. He then renounced his faith and followed Buddhism. If he feels that he has come out of Hinduism after following Buddhism, how is he still a Dalit? This is about mindset.
Judges should work on their sensitivity. Lakhs of cases are pending...I am neither going to apologise, nor do I regret it. I have not done anything; you are questioning me. Almighty made me do it.
My appeal to Supreme Court:
Just don't make fun of our Bhagwan & Hindu Dharm.
"I was hurt...I was not inebriated, this was my reaction to his action...I am not fearful. I don't regret what happened."
"A PIL was filed in the Court of CJI on 16th Sept. The CJI mocked it and said - go and pray to the idol and tell it to restore its own head...When Nupur Sharma's matter came up before the Court, the Court said that she vitiated the atmosphere....When a matter related to our Sanatan Dharma comes up, SC passes such orders. Don't provide relief to the petitioner, but don't mock him either...I was hurt...I was not inebriated; this was my reaction to his action...I am not fearful. I don't regret what happened."
My action reflects the voice & pain of common Hindus who see bias in the Supreme Court toward a particular religion.
The Supreme Court treats Hindus as third-grade citizens.
He is correct about "compulsion". International agreements once accepted by a nation must be honoured. For instance, in 1971, India agreed with a UN treaty that said that persons accused of war crimes during the World War II would not escape prosecution no matter how many decades have gone by. An unseen holy man somewhere in UP was very angry when he came to know of the Govt's decision.
