Before King Charles opened Parliament today the Yeoman of the Guard (his ceremonial bodyguards) searched the cellars of the Palace of Westminster to make sure there was no gunpowder, or mayors from Manchester.
In other royal news today, the King is attending a very special service to celebrate 400 years since ‘The Queen’s Chapel’ was completed. It’s here, opposite St James’ Palace. The King is sweetly being accompanied by Princess Alexandra, who has already taken her seat.
