@edmcgreal@jm68975346 First time Galway didn't get the toughest possible draw since 2021 (7 of them consecutively) so calling them lucky for that is some serious stretch, even for your Mayo agenda. As is calling them lucky for not being shafted like Donegal and simply getting the standard turnaround
@edmcgreal@jm68975346 They got lucky in 1 game (Derry) after being ridden raw by the draw they got (as top seed) to even be in that position. You think it's lucky for them to get a 7 day turnaround when every quarter finalist that's ever played has gotten a 7 day + turnaround before?
@ConanDoherty@JohnFogartyIrl So when your own Derry beat Armagh on pens in 2023 Ulster final, that was 100% about getting the Anglo-Celt and 0% about avoiding a group with Galway & Tyrone over a group with Donegal (bad at the time) & Monaghan? They're completely different and non connected competitions sure
@ConanDoherty@JohnFogartyIrl That's not reflective of the original point. Provincials and groups perform the same duty and thus is the same comp. They remove teams from the all Ireland and seed teams to go forward to the next stage. Ulster being very bloated w/ good teams is a side issue that we agree upon
@ConanDoherty@JohnFogartyIrl That's results bias though. You try in the province to a) win a trophy, b) benefit from the chance of a better draw. Other high seeds have benefited from having a high seed. And ultimately it's mostly Ulster that's stopping us doing away with the outdated system in the 1st place
@ConanDoherty@JohnFogartyIrl It is the same competition though. One went in with the expectation of a tough group as 4 seeds. One got completely screwed as 1 seeds
@GaelicStatsApp@ConnStevenson91 He kicked multiple scores from 40+ from either foot in that final. Right from play and left from frees. Was that not your original Q?
@LayngJ @EndaMcGearty Depends if you view Roscommon and Mayo as 'high-level' I suppose. But yeah he's completely finished 2 weeks after winning motm and 6 months after winning footballer of the year 👍🏻
@Joe_Stalwart@SmallerFishGAA What about every other decision given in the second half? Galway 51 connachts Mayo 47. We won't mention all Ireland totals 👍🏻
@RigsUtd @EndaMcGearty You basically ignored every other decision given in the second half so? Post penalty it was Galway getting rode to a farcical degree
