My point of course is that I am an AMC shareholder. A really big shareholder. My incentives are to help shareholders, not to hurt them. If I hurt you, I hurt myself. Why would I want to do that? To the best of my ability, my plan is to make AMC stronger and get it to thrive.

@KatStryker111 This is exactly what Goldman and JP Morgan did back in September of 2008. They applied to be defined as a commercial bank instead of investment bank so they could be insured by the Fed when shit gets real. I suspect Citadel is doing the same so it can get bailed out by the Fed
@Collective2k Thanks for reaching out. If a person was short 1 share of AMC on the ex-dividend date (Aug 22nd), they would be short 1 share of AMC and 1 share of APE on Aug 23rd. Shareholder equity remains the same since there is no share locate requirement related to a special dividend.

Sounds like the GME stock split/dividend has completely destroyed some brokers back-office systems - I keep hearing about the nightmare of dealing with TDA. Also sounds like overseas brokers are having serious problems, and German brokers are struggling getting shares to people.
